North Shore Law Makes a Superstar Appearance at the 2021 Lawyer Show Online: Cabaret-A-Ganza

Firm News featuring Mark Slay, a lawyer at North Shore Law

North Shore Law was proud to be a “Superstar” sponsor of the 2021 Lawyer Show Online: Cabaret-A-Ganza. Mark Slay, a partner at our firm, also shared his theatrical talents on the virtual stage as part of the Kool Kats band, who provided the backing music for the evening.

The Lawyer Show is a beloved annual event. Each year, lawyers take to the stage to say their lines, sing their songs, and raise money for a great cause. It turns out that acting and the practice of law share much in common. Given the present circumstances, this event was held entirely online and streamed to people in the comfort of their living rooms.

Mark Slay has performed in The Lawyer Show in previous years, including in a memorable sold-out run for Grease. A consummate music lover, he’s also a drummer in classic rock bands. It’s rumoured that Mark moonlights as an Elvis impersonator, but this has yet to be proven in court.

One of Vancouver’s most significant legal events and a storied tradition, The Lawyer Show is a fundraiser for two of our community’s most cherished theatre institutions: Carousel Theatre for Young People (CTYP) and Touchstone Theatre, both registered charities. Funds raised by The Lawyer Show support CTYP’s mentorship of emerging artists and accessibility initiatives and Touchstone Theatre’s new play development.

North Shore Law is honoured to be a long-time supporter of The Lawyer Show. We look forward to welcoming back a live audience at next year’s event.
