Christopher Doll represents clients with diverse interests, in all levels of court and less formal proceedings such as arbitration and mediation. Serious personal injury, contractual, and insurance claims have been the focus of Chris’s practice since he joined North Shore Law in 1990.
Chris was awarded the designation “Queen’s Counsel” in 2015, an honorary title recognizing exceptional merit and contribution to the legal profession.
Chris will meet with you to learn your concerns, understand your position, and identify the core issues that are in dispute. He will work with you to develop the evidence necessary to present your case in a clear and persuasive manner. By identifying the most important issues from the outset, Chris can help you pursue a favourable resolution early on in the process, minimizing disruptions to your life, business, and relationships. If a dispute cannot be resolved without resorting to litigation, Chris has the skills and the trial experience to advocate effectively for your interests in court.
Chris has been involved in the settlement and litigation of construction claims since the “leaky condo” litigation of the 1990s. He continues to represent clients in resolving complex construction disputes. He also assists the firm’s corporate clients in the resolution of issues involving the governance of corporations and non-profit societies.
After obtaining his law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School at York University, Chris spent one year as a Judicial Law Clerk in the Supreme Court of British Columbia. He then came to North Shore Law to start in private practice.
Since moving to North Vancouver, Chris has served on the board of numerous community and business organizations, including the Lower Lonsdale Business Association (President, 1995-1999), the North Vancouver Chamber of Commerce (Board Chair, 2009-2010), and Capilano University (Vice-Chair, 2017-2018). In recognition of his work, Chris received a Canadian Bar Association Award for Community Service. As an alumnus of the UBC Department of Psychology, Chris has mentored students in the program for over a decade. In 1990, Chris helped to establish a branch of the international humanitarian aid organization Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors Without Borders in Canada. Chris served many years on the Board of Directors and as an Officer and he is proud to remain a member of that organization.
Like several of us here at North Shore Law, Chris enjoys the sport of rugby. He was a coach at Capilano RFC from 2004-2015, and in 2011 he was certified as a level 1 referee. He continues to be a dedicated member of the Capilano Rugby Club.
