Biography

An experienced family lawyer, Kelly Simington provides clients with unwavering support and steadfast advocacy. She practises exclusively in family law, taking the time to understand each clients’ unique position.

With strategic-thinking—and a commitment to providing the best possible service—Kelly helps her clients pursue successful resolutions.

Kelly has experience in all areas of family law, including parenting, child support, spousal support, and division of assets. She also has extensive experience drafting and negotiating family law agreements, and representing clients in the Provincial Court of British Columbia, the Supreme Court of British Columbia, and the British Columbia Court of Appeal.

Much of Kelly’s work has involved high-conflict litigation, including allegations of parental alienation and abuse. She is also well-versed in complex financial matters relating to the division of property, child support, and spousal support. Whether the best path forward involves the negotiation and drafting of agreements, mediation, or litigation, Kelly has the expertise to skillfully and effectively represent clients throughout their family law matter.

Kelly obtained her Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Simon Fraser University and her law degree from the University of British Columbia. She is a member of the Trial Lawyers Association of British Columbia, the Canadian Bar Association, and the North Shore Bar Association, and has co-authored papers on family law for professional organizations, including the Trial Lawyers Association of British Columbia. Kelly volunteers for the North Shore Women’s Centre family law legal clinic, providing legal advice to women on the North Shore.

Kelly previously served on the executive of the Capilano Rugby Club, where she played rugby until her retirement at the age of 33. In her free time, Kelly enjoys hiking and softball.
