Pettit
Tim is a partner and practises general litigation and trial work. Tim's litigation practice is broad and wide-ranging and he has represented clients in various matters including insurance law, personal injury, wrongful dismissal and other employment matters, human rights complaints, commercial disputes, products liability cases, loss of property cases, medical malpractice, fraud, labour arbitration grievances, and mediations. Tim prides himself on working vigorously to protect his client's legal interests.
In the course of his practice, Tim has appeared before many levels of court and various administrative tribunals, in addition to jury trials.
Born in Brantford, Ontario, Tim grew up in both Ontario and British Columbia, attended at the University of British Columbia for a Bachelor in History (Honours) from 1984-1988 and the University of Western Ontario for his L.L.B. After articling and being called to the Bar in Ontario, Tim decided to return to British Columbia and has practised in BC since 1993.
Tim has provided advice on special projects for the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia, been a panelist for ICBC's "Defending Low Velocity Impact Claims" series of presentations, and authored Defending LVI Claims in Provincial Court for general dissemination among lawyers practising in this area across the Province of British Columbia. Tim is a member of the North Shore Bar Association and the Trial Lawyers of British Columbia. He has also contributed his time and energies to the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
Tim is an avid hiker, canoeist and lover of the outdoors and enjoys the North Shore Mountains, the Kootenays and the Caribou. He is married with two children, a cat and a dog.
