Elizabeth Mah

Elizabeth Mah

Elizabeth joined the firm as an associate lawyer in August 2005 and became a partner in January 2010. She assists her clients in the areas of business, real estate and estate planning and administration (please click on the specific practise areas on this website to learn more about these areas).

Prior to joining North Shore Law, Elizabeth obtained her Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Calgary in 2001, with concentrations in finance, risk management and insurance. She then went on to obtain her law degree from the University of Saskatchewan in 2004. She completed her articles at a litigation boutique firm in Victoria, BC, and after being called to the British Columbia Bar on Christmas Eve of 2004, she returned to the North Shore, where she was born and raised. After a short tenure at a large downtown hotel, Elizabeth returned her focus to her legal career.

Elizabeth’s approach is to effectively couple her training and experience in both business and legal studies to advise her clients from both perspectives: balancing their interests in reducing costs (time and money) and being practical. She also serves her diverse range of clients across many industries, complexities, and ages with the highest level of customer service, being sensitive to various dynamics including:

  • the urgencies of corporate clients and their transactions,
  • the stresses of first-time home-buyers, re-financers and investors in our changing economy, and
  • the planning needs of couples, growing families, and seniors.

As Elizabeth’s client, you will also have convenient access to legal services in-person and by email as needed before or after regular business hours, weekends and statutory holidays or in your home, at the office or local coffee shop (with prior appointment only), as well as to her network of professionals when their expertise and knowledge is most beneficial and advisable in your particular circumstances.

During her time away from the office, if any, Elizabeth enjoys volunteering her time, both in the legal community and for personal causes. She is the Secretary of the CBA North Shore Bar Association. She is also a volunteer lawyer for seniors at the Silver Harbour Seniors’ Centre Legal Advice & Referral clinic (call 604-980-2474 for more information or to make an appointment). She is the Co-Chair of the Fundraising Committee of the North and West Vancouver branch of the Canadian Mental Health Association, involved with Little Flower Academy alumni activities, and most recently joined the Board of the North Shore Neighbourhood House. Previously, she was involved in Junior Achievement programs at North Vancouver elementary schools and with the executive committee for the CBA Young Lawyers subsection of the Lower Mainland.

Elizabeth enjoys staying active by working out at the gym, learning to golf (albeit unsuccessfully for the past 7 years) and garden, experimenting in the kitchen and retreating to the spa. She also enjoys making North Vancouver her home, travelling, and watching Canucks’ games with her husband.
